Washing Instructions
DON'T TRUST YOUR DETERGENT!
Many Detergents containing enzymes are 'wool eaters'. This garment was washed in such a detergent, but even if you use a non biological detergent there is still a real danger of damage.... please read on.
Wool is a hard wearing, natural protein fibre and all of our products are manufactured using machine washable yarns. We do strongly recommend that all our garments are awashed on a wool specific program, using a Woolmark approved detergent at a maximum spin speed of 600 rpm.
REMEMBER Never use biological detergents or stain removers on wool, silk or cashmere fibers because the enzymes contained in these products will literally digest the fabric.
Non biological products which contain a bleach will lead to progressive fading and may weaken the fabric, leading to holes in the garment.... scary but true.
Suitable Detergents for your Wool Wool specific detergents are available at all supermarkets and many sell Woolmark approved own brand products. Other well known brands include Dreft, Persil Silk and Wool, Woolite, Stergene and Ecover Wool Wash
Garment Washing For your convenience all of our knitwear is now fully machine washable. So many other makes of knitwear are hand wash only, we hope this makes your life easier! Please however ensure you use an appropriate spin speed and temperature setting. Fast spinning can stretch your jersey and temperatures over 40 degrees can matt and shrink the wool.
Garment Drying Drying the cottons will be fine in your tumble dryer, however avoid direct heat on the woollen jerseys. Re-shape the wool jerseys and allow them to dry naturally. Keep them supported to maintain their shape, a broad banister can be ideal, or simply lay flat, ensuring you rotate it.

General Sizing
If you are not familiar with this particular garment, we've given you what we find to be the most useful measurements when choosing clothing online; the actual fabric dimensions.
Each garment has an individual page like this, to help you make the right size choice first time!
Simply select a similar style of knitwear you currently wear and take two measurements:-
1. Across the chest fabric, from underarm to underarm.
2. The height, from collar to welt.
Then just compare the measurements (inches or cm) with the chart to find your size. (Note that most knitwear relax a little during wear so your own garment will have been slightly smaller when new!)
Ladies beware! Whilst you may be a medium in a ladies style, a small will probably fit you in a classic unisex garment as the sizing is more generous. Please, if you are new to us, don't skip this simple and effective check!
