I have found the Aran jumper to be a lot warmer than the fine merino wool. It is not the first Aran jumper for me. I have a few Woolovers Aran jumpers (different colours) and when it is really cold I wear them. I wear the fine merino jumpers at the beginning and end of winter.

Love my grandson jumper
It is thick and bit heavy but very very warm. The only disadvantage was the sleeves are a bit long so hadto turn up the cuff. And yes I would buy again
